Meanwhile, members of a gang allegedly involved in violent crimes in Gauteng were caught following a police chase and a shootout.

Police from the crime intelligence unit had followed up on information about the gang, who had planned to commit a hijacking in Kempton Park.

The police were told that the gang members drove a Lexus, said police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo.

“A silver Lexus was spotted travelling together with a white Golf 7, at a high speed in Kempton Park.”
