1964 | Philadelphia’s race riot broke out.

1987 | RSA increased press censorship. The president had the authority to impose laws by decree and take whatever steps he thought were necessary to stifle opposition due to the emergency. Due to these authorities, Stoffel Botha, minister of home affairs and communication, implemented additional press limits to censor the media’s ability to report on occurrences involving the unrest and police operations.

1999 | The Russian space mission Soyuz TM-29 is completed, ending over ten years of nonstop habitation on the space station Mir as it nears the end of its existence.

2016 | From the Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota, the ISRO’s Scramjet Engine completed its first experimental flight towards the development of an air-breathing propulsion system.

2017 | China-India border conflict: After a two-month confrontation over China’s construction of a road in disputed territory, both China and India withdrew their forces from Doklam.
