The slapping contest is the latest internet craze. Yes, somewhere in the world — you could have never guessed that it was Russia — it is appropriate to slap someone and be lauded for it.

Praise is not the only award for slapping the lights out of an opponent. As reported by the NY Post, viral sensation and slap champion, Vasiliy Kamotskly, went home with an estimated R7 200 for delivering one moerse klap to his contender, rendering his lights out.

How does Russia’s slapping contest work?

The rules of the game are pretty simple. Two dudes stand across each other, separated by a table that holds a powder substance that is used to allow the contender’s hands more grip.

At the referee’s call, the two slappers will take turns in delivering hard blows at each other. Present at the contest is an observer who, after every turn, takes the time to assess the condition of the contenders.

One can either lose by means of a total knock out, or by forfeiture. Kamotsky is the first and only recognised slap champion.

The clips of Kamotsky knocking the living daylights out of his contenders went viral and attracted the attention of well-renowned MMA promoter, Joe Rogan.

The contest became so popular, it piqued the interest of Logan Paul, the Brittany Spears of Youtubers.

Paul challenged Kamotsky to a round of slaps and the champion gladly obliged, confirming his availability for the Russia Slapping Championship event which is scheduled for Saturday, 25 May.

However, the Youtuber rescinded his invitation, claiming that after an ‘unfortunate’ incident at practice, he has had a change of heart.

Kamotsky responded to Paul’s notice by calling him a p*ssy. Paul made a smart decision. Look at what Kamotsky does to his opponents.
