Today is Peanut Butter Lover’s Day; whether you prefer it with jam or chocolate or enjoy it as a quick treat or part of your lunch – today is a good day to celebrate your favorite treat.

History of peanut butter lover’s day

Humans have domesticated peanuts, which are actually legumes, for thousands of years.

However, it was not until more recent times that it was transformed into the modern food known as peanut butter.

In 1890, an unnamed doctor used peanut butter to feed his patients a nutritious and easily consumable food. This came after some basic experimentation with peanut paste and a patent granted in 1884 to Canadian inventor, Marcellus Gilmore Edson.

Interestingly, National Peanut Butter Lovers Day falls on the first day of March, several months after National Peanut Butter Lovers Month in November, allowing peanut butter lovers to celebrate throughout the year.
