A pleasant getaway for a couple’s son to their Gogo (grandmother) over the festive season had a speechless ending after the discovery of the son’s jeans upon return.

GOGO ‘FIXES’ GRANDSON’S RIPPED JEANS OVER HOLIDAYS

The December holiday is a period in which parents get to bond with their loved ones and with its length also allows a Check-in for grandchildren at their grandparents’ homes.

However, for Aneh Melody Mitani, the unthinkable happened.

Detailing the story on Facebook Aneh said: “Ok so my son went to his Grandparents for the December holidays. Being young parents we bought clothes separately (no tatakhe) with his dad. The clothes we bought for Christmas included very nice and stylish ripped jeans for our son.”

“To my surprise, uMakhulu (Gogo) spent December sewing these stylish ripped jeans all over the ripped areas that are supposed to be stylish and ripped on the jeans”.

GRANDMA WAS CONFRONTED ABOUT THE INCIDENT

When Aneh asked the Gogo about this supposed incident, she said she replied: “I saw them rugged and I thought they were old pair of jeans so I took it upon myself to patch them up for my grandson”.

The Gogo was not done as she also questioned the mother about buying torn jeans. “She asked that is there no places in Cape Town that sell complete jeans”.

Before Aneh answered, she said the Gogo advised her that from now on she should buy her son’s clothes in Engcobo, Eastern Cape.

SOCIAL MEDIA HAS GREAT LAUGH OVER THE SITUATION

Aneh’s fun story was well-received on Facebook garnering more than 400 reactions and 240 shares, with comical comments from her friends and some sharing stories of similar incidents with their vintage grandparents.
