You’ve got to enjoy the lighter side of the news, as and when you get the chance. When it concerns Jacob Zuma and his family, it’s perhaps best not to think too much about the extent of his state capture involvement. Not unless you want to give yourself high blood pressure, anyway.
So when the former president of South Africa candidly reveals a little more than he was intending to, it’s important we all gather round for a chuckle. It’s therapeutic, good for the soul… and gives social media users the giggles.
Msholozi and Duduzane Zuma uploaded a picture of them both posing like boxers, as if they were in the ring together. The pair have certainly got a fight on their hands when it comes to court cases in 2019. Zuma Snr is still facing a string of corruption charges, whereas his son must return to court in March to face a culpable homicide trial.
The “like father, like son” duo were reunited today when uBaba went to support Duduzane at two trial hearings. As well as a potential sentence for causing the death of two people by dangerous driving, Zuma Jnr also had to appear in court for accusations of corruption – a case that has been provisionally withdrawn.
It was a good result for the Gupta business partner, who was clearly in a buoyant mood for the celebratory snap. However, Zuma’s middle-finger to the media and the courts might not have gone according to plan…
What is that above the landing?
It would seem JZ has only gone and got an animal-skin portrait of himself. Hanging proudly above the dwelling, it depicts Zuma back in his prime – complete with facial hair – as he smiles contently in his three-piece suit.
It’s a bizarre piece of art that is hauntingly mesmeric. It obviously takes a lot of talent to design, and whoever created that should be proud of themselves. But we don’t expect demand for furs containing Jacob Zuma’s face to skyrocket soon. Who knows, maybe that’s what he and Duduzane are fighting over?
