Could these be the first wedding vows to mention a Streetwise meal deal? A newly-married couple from Pietermaritzburg have gone viral this week, after they were spotted in the Midlands Mall on their way to KFC – dressed in full wedding attire!

Here comes the fried: Couple take wedding party to KFC

The fried chicken enthusiasts couldn’t contain their delight when asked about their big plans for the day: The groom, kitted-out in a fetching pink jacket and waistcoat combo, was certainly dressed for the occasion – but it’s the blushing bride who steals the show here.

The pair were seen enjoying a little groove outside a store, before someone with a camera approaches them. The bride, still in her element, informs the inquisitor that they were ‘just married’ earlier in the day. Her dress and jewellery, by the way, give us life throughout.

When questioned about where they were going, the woman replies with ‘KFC’, enthusiastically singing the praises of the fast food restaurant. The clip then concludes before the newlyweds make their way towards the unique post-wedding venue:

Wings and rings: Romance in the air at popular fast-food venue

For those of you who doubt the romantic pull of a KFC, you’ll need to have a rethink: Back in 2019, a man got down on one knee in the middle of a Gauteng KFC – filled with customers and patrons at the time – and proposed to his wife-to-be. Thankfully, she accepted with glee.

The couple then exchanged their vows inside the KFC restaurant, which received a huge amount of press coverage and media attention. Well-wishers sent a ton of wedding gifts to the cash-strapped pair, enabling them to have the ceremony of their dreams without the financial burden.

We’re telling you, the world has a new ‘romance capital’ – and its name is Kentucky!
