Northern Cape police on a high after R1million weed bust
Crime stats released earlier this week, revealed that between January and March, drug related crime in the country stands at 41 810.

Police in the Northern Cape have apprehended two suspects, after being found with a large bag of weed in a hiking spot. Weighing 47 kilograms, the estimated street value of the drug is estimated at R1,1million.
Acting off a tip from the community, acting district Commissioner Peet Coetzee, lauded the community for reporting the crime.

“We urge you to continue being the eyes and ears of the police. The police will continue relentlessly in eradicating drugs from society”,says Coetzee.
The two male persons between the ages of 25 and 35 were arrested on a charge of dealing in dagga and will appear in Kakamas Court soon.

WESTERN CAPE POLICE
Meanwhile in the Western Cape, police in Khayelitsha were also alerted about a suspected drug dealer in the area.
Two men aged 60 and 27, were arrested for the possession of drugs. In their premises, police found 41 mandrax tablets, two large zip lock bags containing cocaine and a large quantity of crystal meth weighing approximately 250 gram in the house.

The suspects will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates court on Monday.
Whilst in Gugulethu, a 62 year old man was found to be in possession of weed on Friday evening. During a search of the premises a black bag with dagga cigarettes and loose dagga were confiscated. The suspect will appear in the Athlone Magistrates court on Monday.
