Nigerian to appear in court after Hawks free 26 young women from North West brothel
A Nigerian man, arrested last Friday in connection with the brothel where 26 young women were rescued, will appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrates court.
The 42 year-old was arrested when the police raided a house in Klerksdorp where 26 women, the youngest being 14 years old, were held as prostitutes.
According to EWN, 18 other men were found at the house, but none of them had anything to do with the operation.
“With the children, we need to ascertain whether they’re South African and we need to ensure we know where their parents are. We need to find out why these children were found in these circumstances,” the department of social development’s Lumka Oliphant said, adding that the victims are now safe.
