Look out world, we have a new crowned queen and her name is Andrea Meza.

Meza was crowned by South Africa’s very own Zozibini Tunzi during the pageant’s finale in Hollywood, Florida in the early hours of Monday morning, 17 May 2021.

Tunzi held the Miss Universe title for two years, as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 had prompted organisers to postpone the competition by a year.

WHO IS ANDREA MEZA?

The new Miss Universe Andrea Meza is 27 years old and grew up in Chihuahua City. She has a degree in software engineering from the Autonomous University of Chihuahua.

Meza had previously been Mexicana Universal 2020 and Miss Mexico 2017. She was also the first runner-up at the Miss World Competition in 2017.

Her Miss Universe win makes her the third Mexican woman to claim the crown, following Lupita Jones and Ximena Navarrete.
