Ramathuba makes history as Limpopo’s first female premier, out of elected premiers

Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, formerly the MEC for Health in Limpopo, has been elected as the province’s new premier. She takes over from Stanley Mathabatha, who had announced his decision to step down from the role prior to the election. Ramathuba’s ascension marks a significant milestone as she becomes Limpopo’s first female premier.

Furthermore, in her acceptance speech, Ramathuba expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her.

“I am humbled and grateful to accept the responsibility entrusted to me as the Premier of this great province. I am deeply honoured for the opportunity to lead Limpopo towards a future of progress, prosperity and unity,” she said.
