Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut told the Weekend Argus that a 33-year-old man was shot and killed at the corners of Amandel and Dagbreek streets in Westridge Mithcells Plain.

According to reports, the man was not a patron and he was running away when he was shot and killed in the parking area. The time and date stamp on the footage reveals that the incident took place just after 19:20 on Tuesday, which Traut also confirms with his statement.

“At 19:30 on June 1, a 33-year-old man was shot and killed on the corner of Amandel and Dagbreek Streets, in Westridge, by an unknown suspect who is yet to be arrested,” said Traut.

The spokesperson added that the circumstances around the killing are being investigated.

In the 32-second video clip, the deceased can be seen standing still and looking, towards what is presumably the entrance to the establishment, beyond the frame.

Another individual appears in the foreground of the footage, while a second person walks through a gap between two vehicles – there is also a bunch of people in the street in the distance.

Around the 14-second mark, the killer emerges – also coming from between the parked cars. He runs up behind the deceased, who does not even get the chance to turn around, and fires shots into the back of his head at point blank range.

Panic breaks out as the deceased slumps to the ground and bystanders begin running for cover.

The killer also leaves the scene of the crime on foot – he can be seen running out of the parking lot and up the street before he eventually disappears from view and the footage ends.
