Mum cradling baby struck by car in KZN

RUSA medics arrived on the scene at approximately 13:46 and located the Mum seated on the side of the road after the accident.

A 42-year-old Mum cradling her three-month-old son was struck by a vehicle on Thompson Lane in the Verulam CBD, north of KZN today Wednesday, 8 March.

HOW THE MUM WAS STRUCK BY THE VEHICLE IN TOWN

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on the scene at approximately 13:46 and located the female seated on the side of the road.
The driver of a gold Toyota Corolla informed Reaction Officers that he was turning onto an unpaved road when his passenger rearview mirror struck the female.


“According to witnesses the mother and son fell to the ground.”

MOTHER AND BABY EXAMINED BY RUSA MEDICS

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) examined the mum and baby on the scene.

“The baby did not sustain any injuries. His mother sustained soft tissue injury to her right leg. They were transported to a medical facility for further examination,” RUSA explained.

STOLEN TOYOTA COROLLA RECOVERED IN KZN

Meanwhile, Reaction Unit South Africa also recovered a stolen old model Toyota Corolla in Amaoti.

It is reported that the white Toyota Corolla that was stolen from Tongaat (KZN) during the course of last night (Tuesday, 7 March) was recovered in Amaoti – KZN today, Wednesday 8 March.

“Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from Tracker requesting assistance to locate the vehicle that was emitting signals between Amaoti and Inanda – KZN. Reaction Officers, members of the South African Police and Tracker Operations Team converged on the area and homes in on the signal.
After a lengthy search, the car was recovered by Police abandoned on an unpaved road, the report stated.
