Police seeking the next-of-kin of elderly woman found in Free State

Motlakgomang Alina Mohapi was found in Thabong on Thursday. She could not remember her home address. The police are seeking her next-of-kin.

The police in the Free State are searching for the family of an elderly woman who was found in Thabong on Thursday, 7 October. The authorities were summoned to a scene where a woman, believed to be in her 80s, appeared to be lost.

POLICE SEEK RELATIVES OF MOTLAKGOMANG MOHAPI

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele said members of the Thabong Police Station were called to a house in the area at approximately 20:30 on Thursday.

Witnesses reported that an elderly woman, who could be around 80 years ago, was lost in the area and she could not remember her home address.

The police officers took her to Thabong Police Station where she was interviewed. The woman told the officers that her name is Motlakgomang Alina Mohapi. However, she still could not remember her home address.

“She was wearing a sky blue dress, black half boots, pink and white towel on her shoulder, brown and white wool cap, she used a wooden stick to walk,” said Makhele.
