Four alleged North West gangsters arrested for killing ‘Money Lover’ rival

The victim was walking to his relatives when he was confronted by four alleged gang rivals who stabbed him several times, said police.

The police in the North West arrested four alleged gangsters for the killing of a 35-year-old man on Sunday, 26 June.

FOUR ARRESTED FOR NORTH WEST KNIFE MURDER

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh said the deceased, Papa Johannes Madede, visited his family members in Extension 19, Jouberton on the day of his alleged murder.

As he made his way to Extension 19, Madede who was believed to be a member of the Money Lover gang was confronted by five members of a rival gang. He was stabbed several times and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) members declared him dead at the scene.

The North West Anti-Gang Unit tracked down and arrested Itumuleng Tumi Leshage, 27, Jonas Robert Lungile, 36, Johannes Mannapule “Snapo” Molofane, 22, and Danile Roikie Xandibe, 28, in connection with the murder, on Tuesday, 28 June.

The four arrested suspects appeared before the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 30 June for Madede’s murder. They were remanded in custody until 7 July when they are expected to make a formal bail application.
