NO DISRUPTIONS AS THE 2022 MATRIC EXAMS KICKOFF

More than 794 000 matric candidates sat for the two-hour English Paper 1 exams in 6800 examination centres across South Africa on Monday.

The department said there were no major challenges and despite the heavy rain in KwaZulu-Natal, there were no disruptions reported in any province.

On Tuesday, 1 November, more than 165 000 candidates will write Economics Paper 1, which is also two hours long.

The education minister, Angie Motshekga, praised the matric class of 2022 for their resilience and perseverance, said the department.
