Manhunt launched for the KILLERS of an Eastern Cape elderly woman
Eastern Cape police said when they arrived at the scene, they were shown the body of an elderly woman who was charred.

Police in Cala in the Eastern Cape launched a manhunt for the killers of a 79-year-old elderly woman earlier this month.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Zithulele Dladla has ordered the activation of the 72-hour mobilization plan to track, trace and arrest the killers.
ELDERLY WOMAN FOUND BRUTALLY MURDERED
The elderly woman’s murder took place on 7 June 2022 at Thembelihle Luphaphasi locality, in Cala, said police spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana.
“Police members received a call from a member of the community alerting them to a human body that was found at New Rest. The body was found not far from where the deceased person stayed,”
said Kinana.
He further said that when police arrived at the scene, they were shown a body which was charred.
According to the relatives, she was last seen the previous day evening and sleeping alone in her room.
Kinana added that the motive for the killing is not known at this stage. However, a murder case was registered for investigation and no arrest has been made yet.

MANHUNT LAUNCHED FOR ASSAILANT(S)
Meanwhile, police in Limpopo are still searching for the killer or killers responsible for the brutal murder of an elderly woman in Kuranta village, in Limpopo.
Maidi Puledi Malefofane aged 85, was found killed in her house on 17 May.
Limpopo Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe ordered a manhunt for the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of Malefofane.
The Police received information about a murder incident that occurred in Kuranta village.
When they arrived at the scene they found the deceased, elderly woman with multiple serious injuries inside the house.
“It appeared the assailant(s) used a sharp object to murder the victim. Emergency services were called and the elderly woman was certified dead on the scene,”
said police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
He added that the District Commissioner, Major General Willie Mashava has been directed to lead the team that has already started hunting down the killer(s).
The motive for the murder will be determined by the unfolding investigations.
