Pretoria: Man found dead in bullet-riddled luxury car in Silverton

Emergency personnel have confirmed the death of an unknown man who was found dead in a luxury vehicle in Silverton, Pretoria.

A man has been found dead in Silverton, Pretoria on Monday night, inside a luxury vehicle peppered with bullet holes.

The incident happened in Silverton, in the eastern suburbs of Pretoria. An emergency services spokesperson believes the victim is in his 30s, and it is confirmed he sustained fatal gun wounds while sitting in the driver’s seat.

VICTIM DECLARED DEAD AT THE SCENE IN SILVERTON

“On closer inspection the male, believed to be in his thirties, was found seated in the driver’s seat, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds,” Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen told the Times.

“He was declared deceased on arrival,”

he added.

POLICE TO BEGIN INVESTIGATIONS

Meanwhile, van Reenen added that there are no established motives for the cold-blooded killing, and the South African Police Service (SAPS) will begin investigations.

“The motive for the shooting and the events surrounding it are unclear and will form the subject of a SA Police Service investigation,” he concluded.

Elsewhere in the Gauteng province, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) helped police seize 67 pieces of calcium hydroxide, which is a substance used to create the drug tik.

The substances which weigh 132.41kg and with a street value of R40 million, were seized at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday afternoon.
