Watch: Man bizzarely attempts to hijack speeding truck in Joburg [video]
A video has gone completely viral showing a man attempting to frantically hijack a truck speeding along a Joburg highway.
There seem to always be a lot of crazy shit going on here in South Africa, now, you might be about to see the craziest thing yet.
Video footage has emerged of drivers filming a man clinging to the side of a speeding truck while trying to hijack it just before the Grayston Drive onramp in Johannesburg.
Man hijacks speeding truck
News24 spoke to the truck owners who revealed that the truck was followed by a Toyota Tazz with four men on 22 January 2018. As the truck slowed to match traffic, one of the men jumped out of the vehicle out of the truck and tried to get inside the driver’s cabin.
This lead to the truck driver increasing his speed as he had hoped the man would jump off. The man kept clinging onto the side mirror.
The hijacker then can be seen climbing across the front of the truck as he then tries to gain entry through the passenger door of the truck.
While not in the video, the driver managed to spot a stationary police vehicle while the hijacker was making his way in through the passenger door. The truck driver then quickly pulled over in front of the police, who had actually witnessed the entire situation play out.
The man and the rest of the men in the Tazz were quickly arrested but later released as they had no weapons and the truck was empty.
