A man accused of murdering his wife and baby escaped on Sunday evening along with three other prisoners.

THE BODIES OF HIS WIFE AND BABY DAUGHTER WERE DISCOVERED AT A LODGE

Neesham Nasir Mohammad is accused of brutally murdering his wife Ayesha Nasir (Chantelle Ash) and their 8-month-old daughter Tasneem at a lodge near Mokopane (Potgietersrus) on Thursday, 14 January 2021.

Bangladeshi National, Neesham Nasir married Ayesha in a traditional Muslim wedding in December 2020. They met four years ago in Randfontein at Neesham’s business. Ayesha was born in Polokwane and grew up in Levubu.

Neesham was reportedly denied bail previously and was detained in police custody.

Police told the media on Monday that it was still investigating the circumstance surrounding the escape.

According to media reports, the other escapees are Stanley Chiteya (38) van Zimbabwe. He was arrested for a business robbery in November 2020 in Mokopane. One of his co-accused Dexter Tinashe (26), also from Zimbabwe, escaped. The fourth escapee is Joseph Hlongwane (37), who was arrested in September for rape and house robbery charges.
