Malema on Operation Dudula criticism: ‘They all imitate me’

EFF leader Julius Malema is hitting back at the criticism heavily levelled at him by Operation Dudula and reckons they are all just taking a page out of his book.

Malema isn’t very popular with the controversial movement, which has been accused of expressing xenophobic sentiments and running a campaign against foreign nationals living in the country illegally. The movement’s leader Nhlanhla Lux Dlamini was charged with housebreaking, theft, and malicious damage to property earlier in March. This is after a Soweto resident opened a case against him, claiming his home was ransacked by Operation Dudula members who had accused him of selling drugs.

The EFF backed him in filing charges against Dlamini and his movement. Operation Dudula has accused Malema of supporting the presence of undocumented foreign nationals and even being behind Dlamini’s arrest.

MALEMA: ‘I HAVE NO TIME FOR AMATEURS’

Speaking to SABC News, Julius Malema claims Operation Dudula is full of imitators who all just want to be like him and isn’t fazed by their criticism. Malema has described them as amateurs who are using his name to advance their movement.

“I fight real battles of the continent, I have no time for amateurs who are trying their luck using my name. I’ve got nothing to hide everybody knows where I stand. I don’t care what they say about me, they can make all sorts of allegations. They are arrivalists, I fought here the biggest establishment against me and I’m not going to be threatened by small kids. I have no time for them, they are new into what they are doing. if you listen to how they speak, if you listen to the posture that they take, they all imitate me. Why should I be worried by imitators?”
