Body with head injuries discovered in Tongaat River, KZN

An unidentified male body with head injuries was discovered at the Tongaat River bank in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Thursday.

A body of an unidentified man has been discovered under a bridge on the banks of the Tongaat River in the vicinity of Maidstone in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday morning.  

The body was identified by a passerby. 

BODY OF MAN DISCOVERED IN TONGAAT RIVER 

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers and medics were dispatched to the location. 

On arrival, RUSA Members walked along the railway line until they reached the river bank. 

“On examination, the deceased was found to have sustained a head injury. His pockets were turned inside out. It could not be established if he had fallen or had been pushed from the bridge above as the guard rails were missing

“The Tongaat SAPS were on scene and are investigating further.”

HERDSMAN DISCOVERES HUMAN SKELETAL REMAINS

On Tuesday, human skeletal remains partially dressed in red pajamas were discovered in a field.

“On arrival, members of the community led Officers several hundred meters on foot through dense vegetation and down a steep cliff where the remains were located.

“The identity or sex of the deceased could not be confirmed due to the extent of the decomposition. The skeleton was dressed in red pajamas pants.”
