Phil Fearon joins Divos for their return to South Africa at Grand West in Cape Town

After five years of providing a stellar line-up of performers and sold out shows, this year provides yet another selection of artists. The Grand Arena in Cape Town is where it is all going down on Saturday, 25 October 2014.

Media Personality Brandon-Leigh will MC the event.

Some of South Africa’s finest performers will take to the stage too, including the likes of Garth Taylor ,best known for his 1998 hit, “Why” , Sir Laurence Olivier Award Winner, Alistair Izobell, The Black Ties, Mario Ogle and former, JAG boy band member, Nur Abrahams.

 

“I am very excited to be in Cape Town again, performing and who could ask for a better time than this one with Phil Fearon.” says Taylor.

A live band directed by Trevino Isaacs will accompany performers.

“Performing with Phil Fearon is going to be absolutely incredible and overwhelming, as I am a fan of Phil Fearon and Galaxy ” says  Izobell.

He is still able to recall listening to Fearon’s  white album with Galaxy written all over it,  for the first time and would really like Fearon to sign his LP.

“I am super excited too, since I have always been a huge fan of Mr Fearon ” says  Abrahams.

R&B sensation, Mario Ogle reveals that performing with Fearon will be a dream come true.

“I am very excited to be performing on the same stage as Phil Fearon! My Dad used to play his records all the time.”

“Growing up listening to an artist, one would never think of performing on the same stage as them one day. This is definitely one for the books and a highlight in my career.”  he adds.

Meanwhile, Chad Saaiman says the show is a great prospect.

“Not only am I getting to perform on one of the premier stages in my home town, but I will also to be sharing the stage with another influential artist like Phil Fearon.” he says.

 

Interesting fast facts on Phil Fearon

He was born on 30 July 1956 in Jamaica, West Indies.

His zodiac sign is Leo.

In 1962 he moved to Britain.

He was the lead singer, songwriter and keyboardist for the 1980s band,Galaxy.

Before forming Galaxy, Fearon was a member of the band Kandidate, alongside Lloyd Phillips and T. Roy Morris.

In 1987 Fearon founded and managed a record label called Production House Records with Laurie Jago & Raj Malkani.
