Pretoria-born billionaire CEO Elon Musk, used the US president’s favorite platform to fire some shots at the new administration. Following a Tweet by Donald Trump attacking the judge who overturned his immigration ban, the Tesla Motors CEO praised the American judicial system, going so far as adding that “many Americans don’t realise how proud they should be of the legal system.”

Interestingly, Musk forms part of President Trump’s economic advisory council.  He has looked to be more of the moderate voice in the president’s ear.  In a sense he looks to be someone who “can help influence the White House without condoning it’s most controversial actions.”

Musk’s statement comes at a time where President Trump has been exceptionally critical of the U.S. Judiciary. District Judge James Robart temporarily reversed the president’s extremely controversial executive order, the order restricted immigration from seven Muslim majority countries.

After Judge Robart reversed the executive order President Trump went on a full multi-tweet tirade, asking “what is our country coming to when a judge can halt a Homeland Security travel ban.” Over the last few week Elon Musk has been facing rapidly increasing criticism for being a part of Trump’s advisory council.

The SpaceX CEO defended himself (again, on social media) by proclaiming that “Activists should be pushing for more moderates to advise the President.”  Musk’s rationale seems to be that he can do more good from within. After all Trump loves money and boy does Elon have a lot of it. Maybe that will make Trump catch a wake up.
