The Dihlabeng Municipality Mayor Lindiwe Kambule is in serious need of a Facebook etiquette lesson. The ANC official has made two social media blunders in the same week.
On Wednesday, we reported how the mayor had labelled party leader Cyril Ramaphosa a “stinking sellout“. The ANC have since suspended her from office.
David van Vuuren in the DA chief whip for the Free State Provincial Legislature. He has since unearthed a second tirade of Kambule’s, yet again posted on Facebook.
The rant took a very racist and disturbing turn when Kambule seemingly advocated the use of rape by black citizens in order to “take over by force”.

In a group named “Ladybrand pips”, Kambule shared her post – full of grammatic errors – with the online community:
“I’m will teach you vark women who don’t have proper education who think we can be lead by standard 10 town clerks gone are those days you played with our mothers and father and they called you bo misses… you will never ever see that day again we will continue with liberating the mind of our people.”
“Your grandchildren they are going to work for my children. The sooner you realise it the better. Looting state when whites took over by raping and taking over by force of our black people. I think we should consider to do the same as well”. (sic)”
Human Rights Commission called in
Van Vuuren, outraged by the post, has since reported the local municipality official to the South African Human Rights Commission.
“The DA will not tolerate these remarks that seek only to divide and polarise our people across racial lines. There is no place for discrimination, prejudice, racism or hate in our democratic society.”
“We believe in an inclusive nation based on tolerance and rights for all and this is what we will continue to fight tirelessly for.”
Kambule – already in the news for matters in-house – now faces an anxious wait to see if the Human Rights Commission will also pursue a case against her.
Our advice? First of all, get off of Facebook. Secondly, if you haven’t got anything nice to say, give saying nothing a go. It’ll work wonders for your career, Lindiwe.
