Len Cloete, the father of seven who was shot in the head by a police officer during an altercation at a Muldersdrift lodge, is strong enough to be moved to a rehabilitation centre.

WHAT HAPPENED LAST MONTH AT THE LODGE IN MULDERSDRIFT?

Len was shot in the head by a police officer in front of his wife and friends earlier this month.

In a video of the incident that has gone viral on social media, a naked Len is seen shouting at the police. He takes a firearm out of the bed drawer and cocks it while swinging it around in front of the police officers.

Len is then seen grabbing a firearm for a police officer.

Another police officer at the scene fires a single shot and hits Cloete in the head. He falls to the ground.

LEN UNDERWENT A SKULL REPLACEMENT OPERATION

According to his wife, Chantel, he underwent a skull replacement operation on Monday.

Chantel posted the following on Facebook:

“Thank you, God, for giving me the strength to keep going.

Jesus, my Savior, thank You for ensuring that I am followed by Your goodness and mercy for the rest of my life. You are the Good Shepherd who guides me to the good parts of life; so, Lord, I thank You. I thank You that it is You who satisfies my soul and fills me with Your goodness, forever and ever.

“Lord, I thank you for the miracles already performed.

Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears. Miracles happen every day, change your perception of what a miracle is, and you’ll see them all around you. Thank you, God!

“Len is opening both his eyes, little movement in his left hand. He is receiving minimal ventilation. So that means he is breathing most of the time on his own. When I tell him I love him sometimes, there is a tear running from his eyes. Drs are happy with his progress health-wise. The next step will be the rehabilitation center when the time is ready.”

Chantel added that doctors could not yet determine the full extent of the damage to his brain and body.
