PUTCO launches new electronic ticketing system to reduce fraud

PUTCO launched a new ticketing system to help fight fraud and get data-driven insight into commuter behaviour

PUTCO, one of South Africa’s largest public passenger transport companies has launched its new electronic ticketing system in Soweto, south of Johannesburg, Gauteng with the aim to reduce fraud and improve its systems.

PUTCO ELECTRONIC TICKETING SYSTEM SAFE AND CONVENIENT

The bus company has partnered with Blue Label Distribution company, Ticketpro to enable convenience to its commuters as the new Smart Tab cards and electronic tickets will be easily accessible at approved petroleum and retail outlets in and around Soweto.

.Matlakala Motloung, Business Development and Marketing Executive at PUTCO commented: “We are excited to bring this new ticketing system to Soweto following a successful launch in Eldorado Park. Soweto commuters will benefit from a safer, more modern and convenient alternative to paper tickets with longer trading hours for ticket purchases and top-ups”.

She continued, “This will help us to keep improving our service to our customers. The system complies with government policies that require bus operators’ ticketing systems to be able to integrate with multiple modes of transportation”.
