A man from Lanseria is fighting for his life in a Gauteng hospital after he was shot in the head during a farm attack on Sunday morning.
The farm, which is just off the R552, was visited by paramedics shortly after 1:00. They found the as-yet unidentified man lying on the floor next to his wife. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Lanseria farm attack update
ER24 released a statement after the victim was airlifted to hospital. They confirmed the extent of his injuries and stated that an investigation was already underway.
“Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his head, leaving him in a critical condition. The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions.”
“Once treated, the man was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to a private hospital in Johannesburg for urgent treatment. The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
Lanseria follows Joubertina farm attack
It comes little over 48 hours after another farm attack in Joubertina, Eastern Cape. News24 report that the police are on the hunt for four suspects who tied up the husband and wife and assaulted the man, fortunately not resulting in serious injury.
The farm-based couple were subjected to the horror of having their bedroom window broken and an intruder climbing through it. At the same time, three other suspects also smashed down the bedroom door before restraining their victims.
Police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart told the publication that authorities have their leads and the search is still ongoing.
