KZN hitman arrested on Western Cape-bound bus – he had a rifle and 90 bullets with him

The suspect was wanted for a string of crimes carried out in Inanda, KwaMashu, Mayville and other parts of KZN, said police.

The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) police arrested an alleged wanted assassin on a bus heading to the Western Cape after receiving a tip-off on Thursday morning, 28 July.

KZN HITMAN ARRESTED AT ROADBLOCK SET UP TO CATCH HIM

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson said the arrest was made at approximately 10:45 at a roadblock put in place at the Marianhill Toll Plaza.

The 31-year-old suspect is wanted for a string of cases including murder, attempted murder, hijacking, robbery and kidnapping. His alleged crimes were carried out in Inanda, KwaMashu, Mayville and other areas in KZN, said police.

“A roadblock was put in place at the Mariannhill toll plaza with other law enforcement agencies. The suspect was travelling in a bus that was heading to the Western Cape,” said the police spokesperson.

The man was caught in possession of a rifle with 90 rounds of ammunition hidden in a luggage bag. He is expected to appear in court imminently.
