The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) government aims to distribute 2.9 million vaccines during the second phase of its roll-out programme.

KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) government has set a target of 2.9 million people for its second phase of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala and KZN Health Minister Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu held a media briefing on Sunday, 24 April to give an update on the latest status of COVID-19 in the province.
During the briefing, Zikalala said that the province’s target for Phase 2 is to vaccinate at least 2.9 million people by October 2021, with Phase 3 expected to begin in November 2021.
Phase 2 of the KZN vaccination process will then start on the 17th of May 2021, and will cover:
Zikalala said that the province has an army of 7 616 people who are trained to carry out these vaccinations.
“We are confident that, with the requisite support and co-operation from the public, we can indeed achieve these targets,” he said.
