On Sunday, 28 August, the newly elected African National Congress (ANC) leaders in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) paid former president Jacob Zuma a visit in Nkandla.

The Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme House said that visiting the former leaders is an important step for the foundation of the ANC in KZN to rely on the wisdom of a leader they regard highly, reports IOL.

Mtolo says they are committed to rebuilding the province

Provincial Secretary Bheki Mtolo said they are committed to rebuilding the province and ensuring that all structures of the party were not left behind. The ANC in KZN is said to be accompanied by the 30 members of the Provincial Working Committee and five regional leaders each.

“The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal understands the importance of seeking guidance and wisdom from its former leaders,” Mtolo previously said.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) has warned those who have questioned the lion hunting by King Misuzulu KaZwelithini.

In a statement, the party noted an article published on 21 August about the King stating they were ‘disturbed’. The ANC spoke about animal rights activist and director of Ban Animal Trading Dr Smaragda Louw who questioned the King’s hunting.

“For the record, there was no sale of the Lion. The Zulu Royal Family had a permit and professional hunter including a district conservation officer – who were all in attendance throughout the process. We, therefore, reject any attempt to pit the Zulu Royal family against society,” said the party. Read the full story here.
