King Misuzulu was addressing people at the one-year death anniversary of his mother, Queen Mantfombi Dlamini. The anniversary of her majesty’s passing was held in Nongoma on Saturday, 7 May.

The King was supposed to be crowned after President Cyril Ramaphosa recognised him as the rightful AmaZulu king. King Misuzulu released a statement that his coronation would be postponed.

The postponement followed the devastating floods that ravaged KwaZulu-Natal, taking over 430 lives. The King said the time should be used to mourn those who lost their lives to the flooding in KZN and the Eastern Cape.
