JUST IN: Khayalethu Magadla’s body has been found

The body of Khayalethu Magadla, the 6-year-old who slipped and fell into a manhole in Dlamini Park, Soweto has reportedly been found.

The body of Khayalethu Magadla, a 6-year-old who slipped and fell into a manhole in Dlamini Park, Soweto on 12 June has been found. 

Various teams have been relentlessly searching for the missing 6-year-old. His body was reportedly was found on Saturday afternoon at the Eldorado Park Cemetery wastewater plant.

KHAYALETHU MAGADLA’S BODY FOUND

Despite authorities deploying robotic equipment in the search operation, including the isolation of a specific reservoir in an attempt to find the missing child, but all the efforts yielded no positive results. However, according to television news channel, Newzroom Afrika, Magadla’s body has been found after weeks of searching.

This week, City of Johannesburg MMC for Public Safety David Tembe assured the public that the search for missing Khayalethu Magadla is still ongoing. On Thursday, 30 June, Tembe went to Soweto to visit Magadla’s family.

“The search for young Khaya Magadla is still ongoing. We remain undeterred as a department,” he said.

This week as well, City of Johannesburg Emergency Services left the search site after completing their bit of the operation.

Johannesburg EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi told The South African that EMS completed the physical search up until the main plant, now what remained was for Johannesburg Water to monitor the waste treatment plant.
