Former Scandal! actress Kgomotso Christopher has bagged a major role in Netflix’s newly steamy thriller series Fatal Seduction’ which will premiere on 7 July 2023.

Netflix announced that Fatal Seduction is a dark, intriguing series that tells a story of “unwavering passion and desire, unraveling in a dark story built around a web of lies and deceit.” The award-winning actress is among the talented cast members of the series and she will portray the role of Nandi.

KGOMOTSO’S ROLE IN THE NETFLIX SERIES

“The story develops when Nandi, played by Kgomotso Christopher, spends a weekend away from her husband, Leonard, played by Thapelo Mokoena, and meets the seductive Jacob, played by Prince Grootboom, who ignites her deepest passions, causing her to question the truth about those close to her. Past lies and secrets slowly start to creep in.

Fatal Seduction is filmed in the city of Cape Town, South Africa. Also joining the cast are Nat Ramabulana who plays Vuyo, a retired Private Investigator and Leonard’s brother, and Lunathi Mampofu, who plays Brenda, a woman with a troubled past who also happens to be Nandi’s best friend. Completing the cast are Ngele Ramulondi and Frances Sholto-Douglas,” read a statement released by the platform.

HER FAN-FAVOURITE ROLE AS YVONNE LANGA ON ‘SCANDAL’ 

The TV star bid farewell to her fan-favourite role as Yvonne “YV” Langa on Scandal! in 2020. The role secured the talented actress her first South African Film and Television Award (Safta) in 2019 following numerous nominations.

“Scandal! will always hold a special place in my heart because through the efforts, talents, and love of the cast and crew, I grew so much as an artist and experienced so many career milestones, including my Safta Best Actress win and recent Best Supporting Actress nomination.

“I’ve never worked a day on Scandal! because I did what I loved, and my artist-child was allowed to play freely; all that’s left to say is, thank you to the Scandal! and e.tv… until our paths cross again,” said Kgomotso.

“As my last day in YV’s shoes approaches, I can’t help but reminisce about the thrill ride it’s been to navigate this gem of a character, gifted to me by the dedicated and talented Scandal! writers,” she said. The seasoned actress won the hearts of many South Africans through the soapie and her last on-air appearance was on June 2, 2020.
