R3.6 million drug bust: Kempton Park suspect arrested with crystal meth
A Kempton Park suspect has been arrested with R3.6 million worth of crystal meth in ‘swimming pool acids destined for Australia.’

A group of intelligence law enforcement teams arrested a Kempton Park suspect with R3.6 million worth of crystal meth this week. The officers pounce during a delivery at a company’s warehouse.
KEMPTON PARK DRUG BUST: SMART OPERATION NABS SUSPECT
The report confirmed that a 43-year-old male will now face charges at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court after possession of the big contraband.
The suspect was raided after an intelligence-driven assignment that included the Hawks, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department, and Flying Squad.
Officers found the suspect after tracing a packaging company in Spartan. The nabbing was made possible after the Hawks’ Serious Organsied Crime Investigation members received whispers about a questionable delivery plan at the company.
‘SWIMMING POOL ACIDS DESTINED FOR AUSTRALIA’
South African Police Service (SAPS) captain Ndivhuwo Mulmu, said via the Citizen, that private officers raided the premises following a tip-off.
The suspect was followed while making his way to a shipment warehouse that is located in Pomona. Mulmu said the police waited for the ‘swimming pool acids’ to be delivered before pouncing on the action.
The Kempton Park suspect claimed he was carrying swimming pool pump and acid that was headed for Australia. It did not take long for officers to uncover bags of crystal meth with a street value of R3.6 million.
Meanwhile, in Kimberley, detectives in the Northern Cape seized drugs and equipment worth R1 million in a Kimberley drug bust on Wednesday, 17 November.
South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Captain Sergio Kock said the Northern Cape Organised Crime Detectives were assisted by the Multi Dimension Organized Crime unit in the Kimberley drug bust.
