The disgraceful gender-based violence epidemic hasn’t gone anywhere, even in the middle of our coronavirus crisis. Tshegofastso Pule was found hanging from a tree in the veld near Roodepoort, after being brutally stabbed by her assailant, sparking an urgent murder investigation from the police.
Tshego was last seen at the West Lake Complex near Florida. The 28-year-old has been missing since Thursday evening, and left her home wearing gym clothes, a black cap and Nike sneakers. Details of what lead to her attack remain sketchy. But the next day, a grim discovery was made.
Police revealed that they found the body after being alerted by a member of the public. After recovering Tshegpofastso Pule, officers confirmed that she was eight months pregnant at the time of her killing.
