JUST IN: VW Polo Vivo male occupants wiped out in EC crash

The report suggests that all four occupants (adult males) of the VW Polo Vivo died when their vehicle collided with a truck.

Occupants travelling in a VW Polo Vivo have lost their lives after the vehicle crashed into a truck this evening, Tuesday, 30 May.

MALE OCCUPANTS KILLED IN A CRASH AFTER EAST LONDON

The Eastern Cape Department of Transport reported that all four occupants (adult males) of the VW Vivo died when their vehicle collided with a truck on the N2 road, some 12km to Kei Bridge from East London in Eastern Cape.

“It is alleged the driver of the Vivo lost control of the vehicle while driving down towards the Kei Bridge from EL direction. It slammed onto the truck and all 4 occupants died on the scene,” the Eastern Cape Department of Transport reported.

“The truck driver and his 2 passengers escaped unharmed.”

MATTER CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION

Eastern Cape Department of Transport further reported that a case of culpable homicide has been opened for further investigation.

VW POLO VIVO KILLS FIVE PEOPLE A DAY PRIOR

This tragic accident comes a day after another crash ended the lives of five occupants in the vehicles.

“An Avanza (3 occupants) collided with a VW Polo (2 occupants). All the 5 men involved in this accident, from both vehicles, wiped out in a flash,” the Eastern Cape Department of Transport said, adding that the five died as a result of a head-on collision on the R56 between Nqanqarhu (Maclear) and Dyoki (Ugie).
