The glitz and glam of the Durban July weekend might be done and dusted but fabulous memories will be etched in the hearts of those who attended it for quite some time.

This past weekend was one of Durban’s biggest events which attracted A-listers and revellers from all corners of the country.

By virtue of the gains the Durban July brings to the warmest city in KwaZulu-Natal, some businesses grabbed and ran with the opportunity to host after-parties (although not official).

A popular joint in the Durban CBD used young women in bikinis to lure customers but the concept backfired on social media.

Using the theme: VDJ Ultimate Experience, Egagasini decided to introduce half-naked waitresses in pink bikinis to sell bottles and entertain the guests amidst a crazy line up of performances.

While some vouched for this theme, many others criticised the restaurant for taking advantage of young girls, especially allowing such a dress code in winter.
