Johannesburg mother kidnapped at her workplace -RELEASED
The mother who was grabbed, pushed into car, and kidnapped while entering her place of work in Johannesburg has been RELEASED.

The Johannesburg mother who was grabbed, pushed into silver Mercedes, and kidnapped as she was entering her place of work in Johannesburg has been released.
THE JOHANNESBURG MOTHER IS SAFELY BACK AT HOME
Police spokesperson Colonel Athlenda Mathe said on Sunday the SAPS anti-kidnapping task team was involved in the rescuing of kidnapped Anesha Nathoo (57).
“The victim has been safely reunited with the family safe and unharmed. The Task Team has since launched a manhunt to track down the alleged kidnappers.”

Anesha was kidnapped on June 28, at around 6:15 am, while entering Pepe’s Bakery, Lenasia South. She was grabbed, pushed into a silver Merces, and kidnapped as she was entering her place of work.
The motive for her kidnapping is believed to have been for ransom but police nor family members could confirm this yet.

Last year, police Minister Bheki Cele revealed that there have been 2000 kidnapping cases reported to the police between July to September 2021.

Police Minister Bheki Cele said this is a new category of crime that the police are monitoring closely.
During July this year, 507 kidnappings were reported, followed by 694 in August and 799 in September.
HOW MANY OF THESE CASES WERE RANSOM RELATED?
Cele said officials analysed a sample of 620 cases. In that sample, 52 kidnappings were ransom-related, while seven involved human trafficking.
He added that most of the kidnappings reported were high-jacking-related, followed by kidnappings that were robbery and rape-related.
