The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) has left vendors counting their losses after confiscating second-hand goods from their jumble sale.

JMPD DISRUPTS A JUMBLE SALE IN ROODEPOORT

Earlier today, Sunday, 14 August, JMPD carried out a by-law operation in Region B.

The officers descended on Main and Ackerman Street in Newlands, Roodepoort where jumble sale vendors were caught off guard.

Because they operated without permits and on prohibited property, the officers had no choice but to enforce the by-laws.

“No person shall carry on the business of an Informal trader at a place or in an area declared by the Council as a place or area in which Informal Trading is prohibited.”

JMPD TACKLES LAND INVASIONS HEAD ON

Lately, JMPD seems to be on a quest to prove that they have the last action when it comes to by-laws in the City of Johannesburg.

They have been hard at work in trying to keep land invasions to a minimum.

Yesterday, Saturday, 13 August, JMPD roped in private security to fight land invasions.

They reported that the illegal land Invasion operation was conducted by their officers together with Mjayeli and Matla A Morwa security companies at Braam Fisherville Phase 2 in Region C.
