Accused of murdering his wife and staging her suicide, Jason Rohde has taken to the stand for the third consecutive day at the Western Cape High Court.

As News24 report, he was forced into giving some pretty frank answers.

What is Jason Rohde accused of?

Susan Rohde was initially thought to have taken her own life but, after further investigation, her husband was later accused of dressing up the scene and eventually charged with murder.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charges and on Monday, he gave a detailed account of the events which took place in the hours leading up to the morning when his wife was found hanging from the bathroom door of their hotel room.

When court proceedings resumed on Tuesday, the estate agency boss was tasked with demonstrating the gruesome discovery he made after Susan had gone into the bathroom and locked herself in during their blow out in 2016.

Day three on the stand for Rohde

Wednesday was an equally demanding day for the accused, who felt the full wrath of the prosecution’s Louis van Niekerk. He probed Rohde about his personal life and ongoing affair with a woman named Jolene.

In response, the defendant admitted that his actions “destroyed a lot of people’s lives”:
