Despite one member of the Zuma family saying that they would ‘escort’ Msholozi to the nearest police station this week, it seems that a good night’s sleep has changed a few minds within the Nkandla household. After Edward Zuma publicly invited supporters to come and defend the former president, Khanya Zuma has also piped up on Wednesday.
Zuma family flip to outright rejection of ConCourt ruling
Khanya, a brother of Jacob, was speaking outside of the infamous KZN homestead. ConCourt has sentenced uBaba to a 15-month stretch in prison, after he was found guilty in a contempt of court case. However, the verdict was only passed by a majority of judges, and a spokesperson acting on behalf of Mr. Zuma says the final decision was ‘unconstitutional’.
With both brothers ripping into the judiciary and law enforcement officials, Khanya took things one step further earlier this morning. He hinted that the Zuma family would not cooperate with police – unless they go out and arrest FW de Klerk.
“I’m shocked with the judgment, because [ex apartheid leaders] Botha and De Klerk were above the law at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and they weren’t convicted. If they’re saying my brother Jacob is wrong for not obeying an order, I say they should deal with people like Botha and De Klerk first.”

FW de Klerk targeted by Msholozi’s siblings
Khanya’s main gripe with the former apartheid leader is that he also failed to cooperate with a Commission, during the Truth and Reconciliation hearings. A popular line of defence from the Zuma family is to claim Msholozi is being treated differently from everyone else, and that message is in full flow today Meanwhile, FW de Klerk has fired shots back:
“SA as a whole should welcome this judgment. It is a pivotal victory for the Constitution, administration of justice, and the rule of law. Any failure to effect the judgment would constitute further contempt of court. The judicial authority of the Republic is vested in the courts. They are subject only to the Constitution – which they must apply impartially.”
