Matriculants from all over South Africa will receive their results on 5 January 2018. Remember, though, that these are just your results, not your official certificate. You can usually only collect your official matric certificate from your school in a few months. To find out when exactly, it is best to contact your schools.
For the results, though, there are several ways in which you can get your results, let’s take a look at some of them
Remember, traffic to the website will be high, so you’ll need to be patient. To get your matric results online, log on to the Department of Basic Education’s website here.
You will need the following information
If you attended a public/government school, then your results will definitely be available on this site.
The majority of the country’s big newspapers will publish matric results on the day of release. However, the paper does not include your full results, just whether you passed and with what symbol you passed – B for Bachelors Pass, D for Diploma, etc.
You can also get your results from your school – it is best to contact your high school to find out exactly when and how to collect these.
You can use a cellphone to get your matric results.
SABC Education and the Department of Basic Education have a service that will SMS you your results. You will have to register and results will be sent to you as soon as they are released. SMSes will cost R1 and free SMSes do not apply.
How to register to get your matric results via SMS
Please note: this service will be available until 31 January 2017.
You could also opt for the old-school method by giving the department a call on the day that the results are released. Just take note that a lot of matric students will be phoning to find out their results so you might wait for quite a while to get your results.
You can also call 082 152 for your results.
