Hospital evacuated after arrival of man with WWI artillery shell stuck in his RECTUM

A hospital was evacuated after an elderly man arrived with a WWI shell lodged in his rectum. This reportedly sparked a bomb scare after doctors feared the shell would explode.

THE HOSPITAL WAS IMMEDIATELY EVACUATED

According to a report by the Daily Mail UK, it is understood that the man had inserted it in his bottom for sexual pleasure.

A spokesperson for Hospital Sainte Musse told the publication the emergency happened on Saturday. This emergency required the intervention of bomb disposal personnel, the evacuation of adult and pediatric emergencies, and the diversion of incoming emergencies.

IT IS BELIEVED HE HAD INSERTED IT FOR SEXUAL PLEASURE

It is believed Doctors were able to surgically remove the object, despite being understandably fearful.

Doctors measured the shell as 20cm long and more than 5cm wide.

THE SHELL WAS MEASURED – 20CM LONG AND MORE THAN 5 CM WIDE

The bomb was reportedly a collector’s item from the First World War and was commonly used by the French military in the early 1900s.

The elderly man was reportedly recovering well and was in ‘good health’.
