Hoërskool Montana teachers, learners mourn the death of a pupil death

Hoërskool Montana teachers, learners and parents are in mourning the sudden death of one of the kindest pupils at their school.

Carlos Coveiro passed away days before the new year and less than two weeks before he was about to start his matric school year.

While there is incredible sadness and shock amongst teachers, learners and parents of Hoërskool Montana, it is his “friendliness” and “love of Jesus” Carlos had in his heart that they remember.

The cause of his death is not yet known to the public.

Hoërskool Montana posted a picture of Carlos on their Facebook page with a heartfelt message to his family and friends and everyone who knew him.

“It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Mario Coveiro, who was supposed to start his matric year at Monties in less than two weeks,” the Facebook post read.

“Our deepest sympathy to his parents, Carlos and Simoné, his sister Caroné, his family, friends, and teachers.

By late morning on Friday, 29 December 2022, there were almost a thousand reactions to the post and over 260 messages of condolences on Hoërskool Montana’s Facebook. It was evident that everyone was mourning Carlo’s death with his family.

HOKKIE WAS LEARNERS PASSION AND LOVE

The love and compassion Hoërskool Montana teachers, parents and learners share and how they mourn the death of Carlos, was evident on their Facebook messages.

Martin Botha from Hoërskool Montana wrote said: “The Monties will indeed miss him. “Hockey was his passion and love.

“Our school will always remember you for your kindness and attachment to your family.”

“Mario, you were a child that left no one untouched. Quiet confidence, so comfortable with who you were. Your love for Jesus clearly in your life. We will miss you,” Trudie Maris commented.

Wendy van der Flaes-Glanninger wrote: This is incredibly sad. My son Leo has known Mario since gr.1, this is a big shock for him. How do you comfort parents who have lost a child,”

The South African has reached out to Carlos’s family without any success.

Hoërskool Montana has not made any further about Carlo’s passing known.
