HHP: Funeral and memorial details for mourners who want to honour him

Details of the memorial and funeral services for South African rapper Jabulani Tsambo, better known by his stage name Hip Hop Pantsula or HHP, have been released.

The Tsambo family has released details of the funeral and mourning services for Jabulani Tsambo, better known by his stage name Hip Hop Pantsula or HHP. The rapper passed away this week.

In a statement, the family thanked those who have sent message of support and invited mourners to an evening prayer service.

Details of the funeral and memorial statement are as follows:

In Johannesburg:

Tuesday, 30 October at Newtom Music Factory from 12:00 – 17:00.

In Mahikeng:

Thursday, 1 November 2018 at the Mmabatho Convention Centre from 12:00 to 17:00.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, 3 November with the venue and times to be confirmed.

The statement also encouraged mourners to attend an evening prayer service to be held at the Tsambo Residence. No 959 Unit 5 Bophirima Cul-de-sac, Mmabatho, Mahikeng at 18:00 on the day of the funeral.

The SABC reported that the North West government will assist with arrangements in HHP’s hometown. According to the state broadcaster, MEC for Arts and Culture in North West, Ontlametse Mochware visited Tsambo’s home in Mmabatho to pay his respect.

Mochware, who engaged with Tsambo’s family in a closed meeting, says HHP played a significant role in promoting Setswana through his music.

“There is a say in Setswana. As Africans we know that “Fifing go tshwarwana ka dikobo” , meaning in difficult times we have to support each other, then we will work with the community, we will advise each other to give him the best send-off together with the family.
