Rumors about the death of Mark Pilgrim, the very famous radio personality who is fighting cancer, spread like wildfire on social media on Thursday evening. But it was another man called Mark who had passed away.

HERE IS THE MAN NAMED MARK, WHO PASSED AWAY

The confusion started when a man, James Pilgrim, paid tribute to his brother-in-law, Mark, who had passed away after battling cancer for the last 22 months.

“I just want to let everyone know that my brother in law Mark passed away peacefully early this am. Mark had cancer and was given 6-12 months live but he fought it for 22 months. Donna, Carli and I Thank God for giving us the extra time to spend with him. We would like to thank everyone for all the prayers on his behalf during this journey. We don’t have a date yet but we will be celebrating his life at Gassett funeral. I’ll will post details once Donna and I meet with them today. Please continue prayers for Donna, Carli and I. I also ask that pray an extra for Donna because she lost her Uncle to pancreatic cancer yesterday. Thank You.”

SA radio presenter Mark Pilgrim has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which he revealed in June 2022 had spread to his femur, the base of his spine and lymph nodes.

He has provided regular social media health updates to his followers in his ongoing battle against the dreaded disease.

In his most recent post last Sunday, the Hot102.7fm radio DJ shared with his Twitter and Instagram followers that his family had had “a surprise visit from Golden Rescue SA”.

His Hot102.7fm employers quickly rubbished reports late Thursday that the 53-year-old had died.
