Have you seen these men? Police hunt for Muizenberg murder suspects

The police in Cape Town are searching for two suspects believed to be involved in a murder in Muizenberg earlier this year.

The Anti-Gang Unit in the Western Cape is appealing to the public to help them track down two suspects that are responsible for a murder and attempted murder in Muizenberg, Cape Town in May 2021.

POLICE SEARCH FOR TWO SUSPECTS

A South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson, Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, said the two unknown suspects reportedly approached three victims at the corner of St Charles and Dahlia Streets in Hillview, Muizenberg, on 24 May 2021.

“One of the suspects took out a firearm and fired several shots at the victims, instantly killing a 22-year-old male, whilst a 25-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment,” said the police spokesperson. The third victim, a man in his thirties, escaped the shooting unharmed.

The alleged shooter was dressed in a black hooded top while his accomplice wore a blue top. The pair of suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made thus far, according to the police.

The authorities are circulating the following identikits in the hope of locating the suspects. According to the document, the shooter is believed to be a coloured male of approximately 25 years old, is tall and slender and has green eyes. His accomplice is also believed to be a coloured male, aged 19 or 20 years old, who is short and stocky with light brown eyes. The suspects reportedly spoke Afrikaans.
