The story of nine-year-old Previledge Mabvongwe is a heartbreaking one. The Grade three learner from Scottsville Primary School went missing on Monday, 27 August, after the driver of her private transport dropped her off 100m from her home.

The transport driver normally dropped her right in front of her house in Kraaifontein, but, on this day, he claims he couldn’t because there was a truck blocking access to Previledge’s street.

Last seen by the driver in her school uniform, he swore that he drove off right after he saw that the learner had walked past the truck that was right outside her house.

However, it became clear after her family reported her missing to the Kraaifontein police station and Pink Ladies, an organisation that specialises in finding missing persons, that she never made it home.
