Jagersfontein became a media frenzy when houses, infrastructure and vehicles were swept away by sludge when a mine wall dam burst in the area in September this year.

It was also reported that a 20-year-old man was coughing up sludge particles and a body that was swept away during the disaster was also found weeks after the incident.
